The Wait Is Over (Almost)

Lady Gaga's Alejandro was recently voted MTV's Song of the Summer, personally my song of the year, and with the video rumored to premiere this coming Monday Gaga has given her little monsters a preview to tide them over. Catch the 19 seconds long (which is strangely still enough time for her to blow your mind) preview below.

Buck Bad, I Got Paper

I don't know when it happened but I've become really excited for Groove Armada's new album 'Black Light.' I've never really been a 'fan' per se, but who doesn't love 'I See You Baby,' recently I can't get enough of their new music though. More specifically I've been playing new single 'Paper Romance' non stop, absolutely non stop. It's a gorgeous, synthy, monster of an anthem. Makes for great sountrack music when walking to classes... trust. The video is moody and worth checking out. Also the duo is offering a free download of 'Shameless,' another track off the upcoming 'Black Light.' I've included the download link after the jump.

Next Thing, We're Touching

I'm strangely convinced I was English in my former life due to my obsession with the music, the accent, and the fish 'n chips - but maybe I mean British. I dunno. The other day I googled what the difference between England and Britain was and ended up more confused then when I began. I was never very good with my Geography. Point. Ellie Goulding, one of my favorite 'English' singers has released a new video for 'Starry Eyed.' It's pretty grand. Check out the video after the jump which I'm sure will make plenty of dull days just a little better... and shinier. Her debut album finally comes out sometime this year and I'm sure it will be heavily featured on plenty of 'best of' lists in December.

Pants Off Dance Off

How incredibly embarrassing. I feel like I've been caught with my pants off... but not really. For the longest time I've been raving about a certain talent who's interesting music and stylish music videos have had me impatiently waiting for her debut album - which thankfully is due to drop this February. In fact this artist was featured in my end of the year list. Well, had I checked my email more often I'd have noticed a message from Team Diamond promoting the same video I featured in the previous post. Yes, I've been drawling on about Marina and the Diamonds. It's strangely funny, and pretty amazing, to get an email from the actual press team of an artist you really admire. After the jump a beautiful acoustic version of "Hollywood."

Auf Wiedersehen!

It's that time of year again monsters - Project Runway's new season's upon us and this time they're back home in New York. I've been watching all of Bravo's pretty underwhelming attempts to fill the Runway void - The Fashion Show + Launch My Line, with the latter even featuring Lady GaGa - but they always felt sort of awkward and like really obvious knock offs, guilty pleasures nonetheless. Thankfully the original is back, 'stacked, packed and ready to attack.' All the preview videos after the jump - which features a look at a constant who might be my favorite already.

And Let The Drums Roll

It's finally arrived - the list to end all lists for the Naughty Aughties. It's what began as my Most Slept on Artists of the Year list which incidentally evolved into a list of artists I've obsessed with for the past years that all share the fact that they just haven't seemed to get their fair crack at the mainstream, but are still making incredible and awesome music that you should most definitely do yourself the favor of checking out. Good lord that was a long sentence.

Who I'm obsessing over and why after the jump. Also after the jump are artists that just missed my list featured, rather brilliantly, as suggestions under the ones that did - wish I could've featured them all, but every artist recommended is a favorite so give 'em all a shot.

Like A Fungus

New year, new posts. I've missed my blogging days so I started back up.
Well wasn't that an easy solution?
I thought it'd be good to make a list - as all blogs do around this time - but rather than a 'best of' list I thought I'd do a 'most slept on' list. Nothing dirty - it'll be a list of the singers and bands I think were unfairly snubbed by the world + those who have drudged on anyways making fabulous music. Inspiring really. So look for that list soon and till then enjoy my first montage for the blog. It's simple, colorful, but totally poptastic. I definitely want to make a lot more montages for every post - like this glorious blog here - but it takes more time than I like since I don't have Photoshop and instead have to make do with Power Point. Meh. That aside I can't wait to get back a blogging - I've missed it so. Back like boom bitches.
